On the week-end of May 3rd the Midget B stars came home with a 1st place trophy from the tournament in Tsawwassen. In the first game of the round robin under somewhat adverse conditions we tied the View Royal team from Victoria 4-4. Katie Minion won the game MVP for going 2 for 2 and an rbi. The 2nd game was a well pitched shutout by the same Katie Minion and we won that game 8-0 over the Duncan team. Heather Whitlock won MVP for going 3 for 3 on base and scoring 3 runs. The 3rd game it was Isla Powells turn to pitch a 2 hit, 12-0 shutout over the host associations Invaders 91 team. Isla won MVP. The 3rd game Lindsay Van Leeuwen went 3 for 3 scored a run and had 2 rbis in a 6-2 win over Central Sannich and won MVP for her efforts. The first game of the playoffs Isla pitched a 3 hit shutout with Lindsay getting 3 rbis and Katie Kessel hitting 3 for 3. the score was 4-0 over the 91 Invaders. The final was a 3-1 victory over the 90 Invaders with Katie Minion and Isla combining for a 7 inning 5 hit win with Breaunna Hokanson knocking in 2 rbis including the winner. All the stars played very well and the defence was stellar. As was the offence, the number one and two hitters, Danny Brassington and Heather Whitlock combined for an on base % of 27 for 37 and 19 runs scored out of the total of 37 on the week-end.
