NVGSA's New Scholarship Program

We have decided to change our scholarship program this year. Instead of giving out a number of small awards, we will be giving out two $500 scholarships. Any currently registered NVGSA player who is graduating from a North Shore secondary school this year is eligible to apply. Read more here on the selection criteria and how to apply.

Please read through the eligibility criteria and the application process. Then you can submit your application using the Scholarship Application Form on our website.

Player eligibility:

  • Registered with NVGSA in the current 2008 season;
  • Currently in grade 12 at a North Shore secondary school and graduating in 2008;
  • Planning to pursue post-secondary education.

Process:

  1. Submit application using Scholarship Application Form on this website;
  2. Have any letters of recommendation sent by email to executive@nvgsa.com;
    Note: Applications & letters must be received by June 20
  3. Scholarship committee will review all applications and grant awards;
  4. Applicants will be notified in time for awards to be presented at AGM on June 26.

Selection criteria:

  • Team contributions, including leadership on and off the field;
  • Participation in activities which give back to the NVGSA (coaching, clinics, volunteering, umpiring);
  • Contributions to the North Shore community;
  • Character recommendations from other people (unrelated to the player).
