Scholarship Awards
Congratulations to Julianna Duholke & Emily Jarvis, 2011 North Shore Fastpitch Scholarship Award recipients.
North Shore Fastpitch annually awards two $500 scholarships to players graduating from Grade 12, planning to pursue post secondary education and who have demonstrated leadership on and off the field, and contributed to the NSGFA and their community. The awards will be presented to Emily and Julianna at the AGM June 27.
Emily Jarvis helped coach the North Vancouver Crocodile team with the approach twelve-year-old girls would learn to love the game as much as she does. Emily also helped her fellow students as part of the school’s peer tutoring program and contributed to the community through various non-profit organizations. Emily plans to attend the University of Victoria to study science and human kinetics.
Julianna Duholke has demonstrated solid leadership skills, made various contributions to the community and remained committed to school. She has worked extensively with numerous charities, led many school clubs and volunteered with her church. Julianna wished there had been more time to volunteer with the NSGFA, but hopes to coach or mentor in the future. Julianna will be attending McGill University next year majoring in International Development Studies.
